There have been a few people who have argued with me over how much slack to cut Sam.
I’m personally of the mind that he needs to learn to stand up for himself. That it’s his outlook that’s the problem, not his situation.
Points raised against this are that:
-His father hates him, and after an emotionally brutal upbringing he is being robbed of his birthright.
-He’s less imposing on a physical level, he’ll never be able to stand out as a fighter
-His true talent lies in scholarship, and we shouldn’t judge him on his capacity to deal with the outside world
To that I have only one thing to say:
Observe a gentleman who was dealt quite a similar hand to Sam’s. Now compare the accomplishments of the two of them.
